To complete the course, students must complete:
The Handbook
The Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of Global Studies has undergone some changes in recent years. It is therefore important that you read and understand the rules and requirements for your course. These can be found in the ACU handbook.
Students commencing their degree in 2020 should consult the course rules in the 2020 handbook.
If you are a returning student, please consult the course rules in the handbook of the year that you commenced your degree: these are the rules that apply to you but the names and codes of some units may have changed since the original rules were written and will normally have been updated on the program map.
Course Maps
Your course map for the Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of Global Studies shows you what you should be studying in each semester and at each level (year) of your course. Please note that maps may vary depending on the campus where you are studying and the year that you started your course. It is important that you refer to the correct map!
Most units are specified in the course map however at certain points you will make a choice about the Global Studies unit you will take. You will find the units on offer each year for Global Studies Lists A, B and C or the Global Studies electives on the Global Studies unit list.
It is important that you follow your course map: if you don’t it can delay completion of your degree (see ‘Non-Standard Enrolment Pattern’ below).
Non-Standard Enrolment Pattern
If you voluntarily choose to study less than a full-time load, or if you fail one or more units in a semester, you should arrange a meeting with your Course Coordinator to discuss the correct path of study for you. In many cases, you will need a customised Course Map that you can follow to ensure you meet the requirements of your degree in the quickest time available.
Study Abroad/Global Studies International Internship Program
One of the highlights of the degree, and a central requirement of the course rules is that students normally complete a semester overseas either at one of ACU’s international university partners (study abroad) or on an international internship. Please consult your course map to see when you are due to go overseas. For more details about the overseas semester please read the Study Abroad or Global Studies International Internship Program (GSIIP) Information on the Course Enrolment Guide. Further information is also available on the Global Studies LEO site. You can self-enrol into the site if you are not currently enrolled in it. If you have special circumstances that make overseas travel difficult, please consult your course coordinator.
For information about units in 2020 please read the ‘Unit Selection’ section of the Course Enrolment Guide.
